FAQ

Answers to your most common questions.

Why should I use Mas Imaging?

We have a fast acting service that will make sure we arrive on time and on your schedule to make things easier for you. We understand that your time is valuable and shouldn't be wasted waiting in hospitals or imaging centers, so we come to you - wherever you are!

What facilities do you serve?

We primarily serve private residences, assisted living's skilled care & rehabilitation facilities,

and hospitals.

Do you perform background checks on your technicians?

Yes! Your safety is our top priority. Thorough background checks are performed during the pre-hire screening process, and all of our technicians are licensed/certified

and insured.

What COVID-19 health safety measures do you take?

We stay equipped with the proper PPE face shields, N95 masks, level one masks, isolation gowns and gloves. Our technicians thoroughly disinfect the machines on arrival and after each patient using medical grade spray and wipes.

What happens if the weather is bad the day of my appointment?

No problem! Mas Imaging Portable Radiology is a service available to patients 24/7, 365 days a year. Though there are some weather conditions that may be too hazardous for our technologists to travel in – such as mandatory road closures due to hurricanes or blizzards – we will make every effort to keep your appointment even when conditions are less than ideal.

Do I need a prescription for
my exam?

Yes, your provider or facility will send

us a prescription.

Are at-home services more expensive?

Though insurance plans and out-of-pocket deductibles will vary depending on your individual plan, mobile radiology services are covered at nearly the same rate as a traditional brick-and-mortar office visit. And there are no extra fees to you as the patient for using our services. It’s a win/win for everyone!

Who handles preauthorizations?

Our team of expert will work with your insurance providers.

How long until I get my results?

You could get your results as early as 30 minutes, but no later than

24 hours.

Can results be viewed online?

Yes! Your provider will be allowed

access to our portal.

What is a mobile
radiology service?

Simply put, we are a radiology service that operated outside of a brick-and-mortar center. All of our state-of-the-art equipment is completely mobile, so we can meet you

where you are.

Will you come to my home?

Yes! We will meet you where you're most comfortable -

that includes your home

Is mobile radiology the same quality technology as in-hospital or at brick-and-mortar radiology offices?

Yes! Mas Imaging Portable Radiology uses state-of-the-art, hospital-grade equipment for all the modalities we offer. This way, image quality is never sacrificed for convenience, and your provider will get a superior report every time.

How do I scheduled/reschedule an appointment?

Your provider/facility will likely make the appointment for you. Or you can call us at

(631) 551-5101.

What services do you offer?

We perform x-ray, ultrasound, EKG, echocardiogram and doppler radiology services.

What insurance do you accept?

We are always adding new insurances to our list. Right now we accept Medicare, Medicaid, Fidelis, Humana and ChampVA as the primary insurance, and we accept all secondary insurance providers.

We also offer private & self-pay options for those who don't have insurance or prefer to pay out of pocket. Please contact our office for prices & options.

How is co-payment/co-insurance/deductible handled?

You will be sent a bill after insurance

covers their portion.

How long will the
appointment take?

That depends on your test, but generally not more than 1 hour.

Can x-ray radiation be contained in a mobile setting?

Yes! Only 1% of radiation emitted is converted into x-ray photons, the rest is just heat. Mas Imaging Portable Radiology employs experienced technologists who are thoroughly trained in techniques to contain unnecessary radiation exposure during your x-ray exam. And because of the efficiency of the mobile machines, they are able to take quality images in a shorter amount of time than a traditional office could, thereby minimizing exposure even more.
