Let's talk about breast cancer...

Every October the nation is washed in pink to remind us how prevalent breast cancer is, and to show support to patients and families who are battling this disease. In 2022 alone, it’s estimated that approximately 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 51,400 of DCIS will be diagnosed among US women, while 43,250 women will die from the disease. And an additional 2,170 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in men. Though these rates are declining each year as advancements in treatments and medicine are made, it’s still important to get checked regularly and work with your health care provider for any imaging that may be needed to identify and follow concerning masses in your body – including breast ultrasounds.

Though not typically used as a routine screening exam, a breast ultrasound may be used when looking for changes, such as lumps that can be felt but are difficult to see on a mammogram due to dense breast tissue or other underlying causes. Or to get a better look at a suspicious area that was seen on an initial mammogram. They are also often used to identify between fluid-filled masses like cysts and solid masses that may need further testing to rule out cancer.

Mas Imaging Portable Radiology provides a convenient option for getting your breast ultrasound on your schedule and in the privacy of your own environment. Because we offer a 24/7, 365 day a year service, and will travel anywhere the patient is (regardless of the weather conditions), you may prefer us over a brick-and-mortar setting if:

  • You have difficulty traveling, or prefer to stay out of inclement weather

  • You don’t like spending hours in a waiting room with other patients

  • Leaving your house or being in a medical office gives you anxiety

  • You’re feeling unwell, and are unable to travel or sit for extended times

  • You’re immune compromised and don’t want to risk exposure to colds, flus or other diseases

  • Your schedule doesn’t align with a traditional medical office and you need weekend/evening hours or even same-day appointment options

  • You prefer to stay private about your medical condition

  • You enjoy knowing your medical diagnosis in less than 24 hours – and in some cases as quickly as 1 hour

  • You prefer a friendly technician who will treat you like family, and not just another patient

No matter what your reason is, Mas imaging Portable Radiology is available to help you with imaging needs. Give us a call or request an appointment via our website today. We’ll be here for you when you need us.
