How long have you been a tech?
I have been a tech for 15 years
Which areas do you primarily cover on Long Island?
Primarily Nassau county but I do travel to Suffolk county as well.
What do you like most about working with Mas Imaging?
I have been with Mas imaging for a year and have to say that it is by far my most favorite job. I enjoy the flexibility and travel. Working as a travel tech, I love that I am constantly moving and on the go. I love seeing different faces and places, everyday is a different day with variety.
What do you like most about helping patients in their home/residence?
It is a great feeling to be able to walk into a home/residence and have the patient or family tell you how genuinely grateful and happy they are that I was able to come to them and provide such a service in the convenience of their home. They are struggling with so much and it is hard for them to get around or be troubled with leaving in order to get the care they need. It makes me happy to be able to help them and to know that I play an important role in providing a service for them with care and convenience.
Are there any patient stories that stand out to you?
As a tech I come across many patients, some that stand out more than others. I walked into a patient’s room and commented on how many beautiful pictures she had hanging on her wall. She told me that they were all of her and her late husband, married for 60 years. She went on to tell me how they met when they were teenagers. She went into detail about their first date, how he picked her up, where they went, how she waited by the phone for a call the next day to see if he wanted to see her again. I always love hearing about patients’ personal life stories. My grandparents passed when I was a young girl, I was never able to hear their stories. I know it brings them happiness and makes their day by being able to tell me how they are feeling physically or tell me about their family but what they don’t know is that it truly makes my day as well. It’s always a wonderful feeling to know that someone cares and someone is listening.
